Amberleigh

Amberleigh

Set in the heart of a pretty village lying between the majestic North Yorkshire Moors and the lovely Dales this beautifully furnished single storey barn conversion makes a superb holiday base. Boasting a hot tub in its private Italian style garden with lawned area and country views it sits just 100 yards from a village pub serving good food. Nearby at the foot of the Hambleton Hills the traditional market town of Thirsk is renowned as the 'Darrowby' of the James Herriot books (an interesting museum has now been created from the former veterinary practice) and is also home to a famous racecourse and a cinema. Children especially will love a day out at the Monk Park Farm centre and the nearby Birds of Prey and Conservation Centre is well worth a visit as is Sion Hill Hall a neo-Georgian masterpiece built by the 'Lutyens of the North'. Rievaulx Abbey Flamingo Land theme park Eden Camp Pickering and Castle Howard are all within easy reach and the fascinating city of York is a mere 25 miles distant. Shops in Thirsk 4 miles.

"I would recommend anyone to stay here. The cottage is furnished to the highest standards, it is very clean and it was fully equipped with everything that you would need. I stayed with a party of 7 and we had a fantastic time. The hot tub is fantastic and after a day walking on the North York Moors and coming back to the cottage, you can sit in the hot tub and admire the views and the farm at the bottom of the garden. I fell in love with this cottage and the surrounding area making my 30th birthday one to remember."

"An excellent central position for visiting the North Yorkshire Moors and the area around York. Thirsk is very handy for shopping."

"A superb cottage - we all enjoyed this holiday very much. There was so much to do in the surrounding area and the Bird of Prey centre was great. The cottage owner was very welcoming and the facilities were first class - we look forward to a return visit."
