Archway Cottage

Archway Cottage

This attractive conversion of a former steading with its lovely courtyard entrance and sweeping views across the Kyles of Sutherland offers an ideal base from which to explore an area that is both beautiful and off the beaten track. Warm and comfortably furnished it adjoins another cottage only 2 miles from the famous Falls of Shin where salmon can be seen leaping and Harrods of the North have a shop and restaurant serving the delicious local produce. All around dramatic mountain scenery affords glorious hill and forest walking and the fishing is superb. The coastline offers wonderful opportunities for bird watching and Dornoch (15 miles) boasts great beaches a 13th century cathedral and a championship golf course whilst a little further up the coast Dunrobin Castle is also well worth a visit (25 miles). Shops in Bonar Bridge 6 miles pub serving food 2½ miles.

"This very comfortable cottage is located in an ideal location for touring the Scottish Highlands and is in itself surrounded by spectacular scenery. Great holiday for both relaxing in the peace and quiet of the area and also having active days out."
Mrs W, Darlington, Durham, 6th Sep 2009

"This was a wonderful place, remote enough to be very peaceful and relaxing but close enough to everything to enjoy lots of walks, visits around the highlands, golf, good restaurants and much more. The scenery is truely spectacular. "
Mr B, Mussleburgh, 19th Oct 2008

"The location was wonderful and we made some great trips up to the north of Scotland whilst there. With a bit of smartening up of some of the facilities, the accommodation would be A1 "
Mrs G, Aldershot, 21st Sep 2008
